santiago
Here's my first WIP, I'm mainly doing this out of pure pleasure and to learn about architectural modelling and lighting, I still have a long way to go. This is going to be the family room:
Brian Cassil
Looks like a decent start to me. I like the composition of the scene. It's really dark right now but I assume you will be working on that. You might want to look at the size of those recessed lights as well. They look really big. Keep posting! santiago
OK so here's my latest render, the only texture that's final is the floor, the wall and handrail textures are still being worked on. What do you think? I'll be modelling the window frames now.
Brian Cassil
I'd say you need to work on the camera angle. Two things I don't like about it: The arched column being smack dab in the center forground and the downward paralax. I would flatten the view to level, and maybe get rid of those foreground columns all together. I would play around with adding some reflection to the floor. I really like the night background out the windows. Go with that for sure.
santiago
here's an update, I think I've improved a bit in the lighting, but still so far away from realism I can't imagine how long it's oging to take to get there. Any suggestions are very welcome.
Lila
It 's really nice, very interesting...you must have a lot of free time to be able to do these things. based on the updates that you have posted, it looks like a work in progress. i'd say keep it up! santiago
here's an update, the first floor studio, first is the rendered image, followed by a quick photoshop edit in search of improvements for the next render. This doesn't look very realistic at all, any tips on how to give this scene more realism?

Best regards Lucho Thanks for your response Lucho. This is an old thread, but I'd like to eventually get around to finishing this house some day. In the meantime, seeing that we are both from Arequipa, it'd be nice to hear from you. My email is san_tiago@hotmail.com, feel free to write in Spanish or English.
