Woody
Hi Guys, This is the error message I get when I try to send a job to the manager. " Connection Refused - Service Not Installed On Host Computer. " I am using Max 7 and the latest release of backburner. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem is? I've tried changing the default setup to search for the IP address of the manager and I've also altered the port settings, but still no luck. Any help apreciated, Cheers,
abicalho
What's your manager machine's name? Turn off Automatic Search and type the name or the IP address of the manager machine there. Hope it helps,
Woody
Thanks for the advice, but still no luck. The manager seems to be working as I can see servers which are on through the monitor, but max isn't allowing me to send jobs???
abicalho
Do you have Win XP SP2? Did you unblock MAX/Manager from the firewall? Do you have another firewall app?
Woody
Hi Alex, The machine that I was trying to send the job to does have SP2 on it. Can that cause problems? As for the fire wall, it was switched off.
abicalho
Neither SP2 or the Firewall cause problems. All you need to do is unblock (grant access) MAX and the network rendering services from the firewall. Open a Command Prompt and type PING - See if you get an answer or not. That will show you if both are talking or not. Also, are both computers in the same subnet? Type IPCONFIG in the Command Prompt and check that both computers have the same subnet mask. That's all I can think of that could be wrong.
