ctk111
I modeled the terrain in atuocad and imported to viz 4. They are at 2' intervals and I have them spaced out on the z axis. When I apply the AEC terrain tool it's not following all of the contours. The contours are laid out for a bridge (not yet modeled) which spans some railroad tracks. If you look at my topo you’ll see that there is a steep drop off straight down on each side. This is where the trouble appears to be coming from. Any help is appreciated. I've attached the exported .3ds file if anyone wants to give it a go. Let me know if you need any other info. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Chad
ctk111
I've tried working with it a little more, but still no progress. I'm attaching a render image of the terrain. The right side is almost o.k., but on the left I get these deep depressions. I don't know what it is.
Chad Warner
It looks like you have some stray lines at 0" causing that. I would check your cad file.
ctk111
Thanks for looking, Chad. I noticed that last night after going a little crazy. I guess you should check the obvious first, right? Once I fixed that it looked alot better. The mesh still doesn't seem to follow the terrain as well as it should or as well as I think it should. I've cruised the forums looking at a few other threads on terrain, but I'm still interested in hearing about other's experiences.
