RyanSpaulding
Hey, I remember seeing on here once that someone posted a chart or file that essentially told you how much light gets bounced off various materials like various metals...forgive me if I forget the term (I'm all 'NyQuiled' up right now). Does anyone have this? I'm gonna be starting my first GI project this weekend I think and having this would be incredibly helpful. Thanks!
Msamir
Ryan , Do you mean this ? http://www.3d-designer.dk/resource/ior.html
RyanSpaulding
It was similar, but it dealt with the amount of light that a surface reflects...so that when you designed something as wood, it wasn't too shiny/dull and reflected the proper amount of light. What that IoR is deals with light passing THROUGH something...so it'd have to be slightly transparent. I needed this too though, so thanks! Ismael
The term to search for is reflectance. See this thread: http://www.cgarchitect.com/vb/showthread.php?t=4046&highlight=reflectance From Viz 4 onwards and I believe Max 5 and up, those values are used by the render engine to a very fine good use. Have fun this weekend! Ismael
