AJLynn
Celerons are pretty cheap, but I bet when you add in the cost of the rest of the hardware, you'd be better off with a faster and slightly more expensive CPU - fewer nodes to do the same work. 1U is hard to work with - any newish CPU is going to want a heatsink/fan that isn't going to fit in there, with the alternative being to downgrade your CPU to something that generates less heat but isn't as good for rendering - even a lower clock frequency Celeron should still have a decent cooling assembly, and you need some space for air to move around. You might look into something in a 4U assembly, Newegg.com has a decent looking aluminum 4U ATX case for under $100 and good prices on AMD Sempron and Athlon chips - you can fill out the rest with almost any MB that supports the CPU, the fastest RAM the MB takes, a dirt-cheap video card etc. I say AMD because they're cheaper and generally run cooler for the same performance.
