Net Render Error 0000274c

we are trying to link in our 15th render machine all using viz 2005,

but we cannot get the server to talk to the manager,

 

all ip details checked,

 

the error message is the manager says it cannot handle registration and

gives error 0000274c ?

 

any help would be much appreciated

Is there a Firewall/Anti Virus?

What operating system on the problem machine?

What service pack?

Using DHCP or TCP/IP?

Rendering with Scanline or Mental Ray?

Are you connecting using Automatic or are you typing the Manager name? I'd suggesting using the manager name instead of Automatic.

the farm is etup on 14 machines already mainly 200 and xp systems,

using the ip address,

 

i note the server talks to the manager, but the manager error is it cannot handle registartion !
