STRAT
looking good, but yes, as you say, it's crying out for some GI. also, those trees look uncontrasted and completely washed out. i'd look at those again too. Keep us updated
Ernest Burden III
Get some life into that glass. Much darker would do, except for where the sun shines in, which would be light. The paths are too mid-gray, lighten them up as well.
Crazy Homeless Guy
i am posting this relating to 3dmax, so it is a similar question to what might be in viz... are you using max/viz built in logarithmic exposure control to adjust your images? the reason i ask is that i was having similar results when i had it turned on in max, most notably with vray. the car and the trees in the lower left hand corner. the whites/grays are a purplish hue, and the overall balance seems out of whack. LukeC
It depends on your lighting source. How have you lit your scene? I ran into a similar problem a while back in VIZ. If you are using just standard lights, try switching to an automatic exposure control as apposed to logarithmic.
vizwhiz
again, change it again, daily Thanks for the comments, greatly appreciated i did a radiosity solution late yesterday afternoon ran a render overnite, the computer ran out of memory (supposed to have 3 gbs dont understand This) re-did radio-solution rendered = worst Image splotches etc so now later in The day i just found out That There are Too many People, had to erase 3 of the 4 babes o no added some exterior Tables with chairs and Umbrellas ok, working on the sidewalk(s) concrete flat surfaces presently using Logarythmic Exposure Control, 90000 computer is currently rendering at 100% i will have to get back to check the settings will update the Image sometime sooner or later Randy
LukeC
In reguards to your memory error, windows has issues using over 3 gig of memory in a single application, or something to that effect. Same problem happened to us. To remedy this (provided your using xp) is to open your boot.ini and copy the line multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect and change it to multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect /3GB You might want to do a little research before playing around with this but this will more then likely fix your memory problem. William Alexander
i did a radiosity solution late yesterday afternoon ran a render overnite, the computer ran out of memory ok, working on the sidewalk(s) concrete flat surfaces presently using Logarythmic Exposure Control, 90000 Randy, Ram or virtual, memory? have had both errors, Makes a difference to solutions, quite often. Log Exp control at 90,000 can BLOW the crap out of image maps, and extremes of value in colors. In viz/max it actually tends to double the 'flat' effect that so many complain about with the scan line renderer. Behaves like 'Curves" in PS, a little bit goes along way but it does not "fix" larger problems. Can you get the illumination closer to "proper" levels without using any log Exp control? Then use Log Exp to psuedo adjust the 'exposure' like in photography:) WDA
