markf
My new machine seems to be running smoothly, albeit with alot of fan noise.I'm going to try and read the help in Sisoft to get a better understanding of this, but for now I have to get back to work. Thought I'd post this as a start. I ran Memtest 3 cycles with no errors. I ran SiSOft Sandra 10 cycles. Here's some of the results (which don't mean much to me do to lack of experience with this) CPU Arithmetic combined index:27340 CPU Multi Media combined index:97782 Memory Bandwidth combined index:4173 Combined Performance index: 3773 Does anyone have any sense if these index numbers are ok? I get one warning on the CPU & BIOS Info module "Processor VCore higher than rated maximum....If bios supports vcore setting, program correct voltage. If not make sure mainboard supports installed processor." Thia is a bit worriesome. It doesn't appear that the bios allows for this to be set by user. I'm sure the board supports the installed proc's. Should I try to fix this? TIA
Greg Hess
Mark, Check the system bios, and make sure vcore is set to auto. If sisoft still reports a higher then normal voltage rating, just run some burn in tests. I tend to use sandra as a gauge of performance/information more then the end all source of it. If your not having any stability problems, and the bios is set to auto, you should be just fine.
markf
Thanks Greg. I have looked all through the BIOS menus and cannot find anywhere that allows me to select the vcore value. Since I can't change it and all else looks good I will just proceed as if this is not a problem. Thank again for all of your help.
