voltaire_ira
Hi everyone, Here's a wip for a current project that I'm working on. The interior is a mix of Bauhaus and Contemporary elements (hope i got it right). Its almost finished but I need to know if i left somehing out or overdid something. Please give comments based on overall composition, design, color scheme, textures and lighting...so as to improve this image more. Modeled almost everything in max7 and rendered using vray. Your comments and criticisms will be highly appreciated http://md8solutions.com/voltaire/cga_1.jpg
cullen
Thats a really nice image John. The things that catch my eyes... 1. Is the inside of the lamp shade don't know if there isn't a light in there but I don't think that it would come out that black. Even if there wasn't a light in there. 2.There is a weird purple glow on the bottom of the ottoman. 3. There are several white objects next to the window that are really blury around the edges. Other than that I think it looks really good. I think it's a nice choice of furniture and textures. crw
Tim Nelson
Wow nice job! Same comments as Cullen, except for #2. I don't see any problems there.

I was trying to achieve a bright warm morning feel to the render. there's a group of glassware that are blue in color not seen in the frame that's been reflected on the ottoman. I think i might remove that i. the material for the lamp is a polished metal ..i think that's what causing the black color in the lamp...should i change to glass? there's two variations for the lamp available in e-interiors.net, a glass shade and a metal shade. Tim and cullen..thanks..i'll try to improve this one once i get more feedback so i can do necessary changes and render it once again..took 4 hours to render this one. cullen
I would assume the polished metal is the reason. You might be able to use a sub object material and take the reflection off the inside of the lamp. I'm not sure that a glass one would look right. mbr
I like it a lot. The glows do add some warmth and style to it. Did you do those in post? Via Photoshop? If you keep the glows, you may want to blur and whiten the exterior image. The blurs look a little out of place with the exterior being so clear. I like them, though. voltaire_ira
yup, the glows were added in photoshop. just copied the layer and converted it into grayscale, adjusted the levels to have a good white and black contrast, blurred it with gaussian and screened the layer over the image...something like that. i agree with the exterior, looks a bit dark outside...its actually a gradient ramp sky environment..
