Hi fellows,

C&C anybody?

remember...it's a wip from a juniormember here :-)

Don't mind the backdrop, just waiting for the sky to turn this great again (it's a balconyview from my Dutch appartment at 6.50 AM with lousy camsettings, nightview turned off and blurred in PS to erase the grain) I would like to have comments or suggestions for the lighting and overall composition. It's not higher architecture but....

MAX 7.0 + Brazil r/s 1.2.52

Anyway, thanks and good luck to all.

I light your exterior lighting setup. I've wanted to experiment with this for a while since some of the best architectural images are made at this time of day.

The one thing that would make this a great rendering is to do some modeling on the inside & light it up. That would really bring some warmth & life to it.

Thanks Tim,

Interior is in the planning. In fact, I've constructed the inside so it's ready to get furnished and lighted. I'm working on a complete set of cherry wooden studio/office-assets (desks, cabinets etc) and they will be implemented in this same building. This project is also the setup for a new show-reel, soon, where I can present interior and exterior in just one animation. The VR-production (Wirefusion) comes after that.

Take care, good luck.

Here's a little update,

I've modelled a modest illusion of some interior with soft lighting. At first, the lighted room stood out too much from the rest of the office, so I've topped off the edges with a half transparent little gradient for a nice effect. The left cube is too dominant so it's gonna be changed in to a porch or a small terasse (i'm Dutch so be creative with interpreting this?)

There's some work to do on the entrance, it's just not inviting enough. Maybe a cool suggestion? I'm not very objective anymore in this, I'm sure we've all experienced this feeling during our projects...

Take care all,

Dennis de Priester

PS, Tim...great thread about your glass-shop project.

I think the modeling is great! you did a really nice job with it. One thing comes to mind,...I was thinking that maybe there'd be more lighting falloff on the foreground/right side grass. AS it goes away from the sidewalk light, wouldn't it get darker? Just a thought. Keep up the good work.
