Boizell
can u please give me some tips to avoid the plastic look in the rendering attached. is it a problem with the materials, lighting or both? thanx
kamikaze
did you use only one direct light?? it seems too hard bacause its too bright. try using skylight. it softens everything. your rendering will have a more natural look. gluck!! Bugga_Guy
The bricks seem to perfect, try offsetting (slightly) the colours of brick - if that is too hard, try adding some noise hints of blue and biege maybe, or a slight gradient, mixed with that brick tecture. play with your specular colour. kruchmar
Try to chanfer the edges, now the wall is perfect, and make some changes in the ground. Add flaowers or grass near to building
Jason Matthews
Why are the blocks different sizes on the walls than on the entry? Your materials definitly need work. The wall is missing the material. The grass needs a much smaller bump to it. If it is a noise map in the bump, change the size a lot smaller. It might help to use a blend material? Are you using radiosity? How did you model this, CAD or Viz? Either way you need more segments in the columns and the bases.
Crazy Homeless Guy
there are problems with the design of the building. the bowed window cornice on the left is intersecting the cornice above it in a weird way. pull it down, and let the cornice go over top of it with a little space to spare. that window also has no mullion where it meets the building. i am also not found of how the piece of the building on the right sticks up over the other roof line. either pull it up more, or leave it even. i don't know if this is your design or someone else's, but you will have a hard time getting a believable image if the details of the building are awkward or don't seem right. the material change on the corner reinforces that you are using a faux material for the stone, which is not an attractive detail. the mould around your door intersects the ceiling of the porch area. add a base to your building. chances are there will be a foundation of some type, regardless of whether it is new or old. the door under the bowed window is supposed to be a sunken door i think. hollow out the ground. slide the view a little more to the left, around front. both sides of the building are fighting for attention, and neither is getting what it wants. not trying to be mean, but you designing a neo-classical/post-modern building. it borrows its details from the past, and applies a new language to them, but because they are classic details, they pop out when something is odd about them.
