Bedroom Merntalray WIP

Hi everyone,

Here's a bedroom i modeled and rendered using mentalray in max7...

textures are still basic and the bedsheet displacement might be removed. I made use of the displacement to make the bedsheet fluff and add contrast in the scene.

what else can i improve on? comments will be highly appreciated.

popcorn!hehehe!i guess I'de replace that one by adding details to the mech, maybe some creases.

What can ou guys say about the feel and composition of the room. a friend told me to zoom out a bit because the room looks mysterious...zoom in or out?

thanks for all our comments...evryones's a big help!

I would suggest getting rid of the flower and vase and replace it with a small piece of pottery in a neutral color. It's way to close to the camera to be the focal point of the room. When I first looked at the image the flower a vase were all I could see.

I see that you are a real professional ;) i'm working on a bedroom too, but i am a newbie, using Max 7 & MRay... i would be greatful if you shared your lighting setting in GI & FG and your top view (to show where u placed your lights). you'll find my WIP posted here soon.

Many thanx & keep on the fantastic work ;)

another update...i removed he flower.

this time i added dof and a glare (lume) shader.

quite burned and overly saturated in some areas but i think i can correct them in PS.

Now most of you will say, its to burned out. We're all artists here and sometimes we bend some rules to get the desired effect. Before i do some post, does the glare do justice for the render or not? honestly, I like it a little burned out especially when im trying to get that sunrise effect..its like that magic few seconds when the sun rises and you open your eyes and the glare is so warm and bright and then your eyes adjust to the illumination.
