mental and vray setup,need help

hi i have been using Radiosity since i started rendering. i just started to harness mental and vrays.so far my initial rendering results have become disappointing.

can anyone help me out with the basic configuration of the mental ray renderer and lighting settings for me to start with?

Have the same question as you have. I had worked with accurender for years and jumped to Viz and Brazil at the same time. Brazil is turning to be quite a nice render engine to work with, easy daylight setup and have started to play with interiors w/o photons and it is also pretty simple setup to achive a good to very good lighting.

 

Then we got Max & and tried MR....no luck!!! Have read several threads and majority say that MR is not very good for Arch Viz, that it is very good for movies and stuff.

 

Cipy, on vray I have read and seen some great work, try the vray forum, have read that it is very good. I have started to read the brazil forum and it is paying off.

If you are learning vray then their forum is excellent. If you are a registered user then often you get an almost instant reply from chaos. The search function on these forums is the best way to learn

 

vray takes a while to master but default settings should be fine to start with
