mbr
I am trying to model (client doesn't want a 'map') a metal wall that goes around an ellipse (in plan). The diamonds form angled lines that go across the eliptical shape. I can model the individual pieces, the joints, etc., but getting to conform exactly to the elliptical shape I don't know how to do (assuming there is a way to do it). Any ideas? Is it possible to just build a flat wall, then deform/conform to the elliptical shape? Thanks.
lambros
If you are using max/viz, just get the final mesh/poly and apply a PathDeform modifier. Then select the path (the elipse) and adjust the modifier parameters. Check out the help file!
