Moose
Hi,is there any way to create an accurate model of a small building from just the floorplan using 3D Studio MAX?As in i am given the floorplan and told to create an accurate representation of it in 3D. I thought of scanning in the floorplan and load it as the background pic for 3D MAX and just extrude it to make walls. But there can be a huge margin of error in such an undertaking.Does anyone have any better suggestions? Thanks in advance for any replies. Moose
Yup,i'm new at this.I'm applying for a job to do 3D architectual modelling. When i did something similar a long time ago,i got a DXF file of the floor plan where i layed out blocks to simulate walls etc etc,not entirely accurate. So i was trying to figure out another method which can give me a greater degree of accuracy. mbr
Assuming it's not a digital plan, I always go by the construction measurements (that should be accurate). If it's not a plan with dimensions, just get the scale right and go from there. It' won't be 100%, but it will be proportional. Sections and interior elevations would be a help, too.
