Tchebli
Hi, Can somebody help me? This is my problem: When you know a "x" reference to a drawing, it comes in full color. Is it possible to control the transparency of a "x" ref? Sorry by my bad english!
cullen
I guess I'm curious as to what transparency you are talking about. do you have shading in the drawing? Is that whats in color?
oluv
well as far as i know there is no such solution. but as you can quickly change the color of all x-ref layers, i would do the following: open the layer properties manager and select all x-ref dependend layers. you can see the layers easily because they start with xrefname|layername then change the color of all layers simultanously to some dark grey. now the xref will be a bit more decent. if the systemvariable "visretain" is set to 0, then the next time when opening your file the xref-colors will change to their original values. by setting the variable to 1, your changes will remain. Tchebli
When you insert a raster file image, there's a property named FADE that controls the apparency of the image. Sliding the control you turn the image more transparent. It woul'd be very usefull if X-ref also had this property. But I'll try to work using the tip you sent. Thanks a lot. Jon
I haven't come across that setting yet for x-refs, then again I have just been using ADT for the last 6mos. When we bring X-ref's in we have layer 15 set up to be a true half tone and we put all background x-refs on that. Works out well on the eyes. Also have seen it done on dark grey too as has already been mentioned.
