voltaire_ira
Hi everyone, This was supposedly an entry for the cga competition but unfortunately the render time took a loooong. This one was modeled using max 7 and rendered using vray. This one is almost finished, just waiting for your comments to improve. Comments and suggestions please...thanks. Richard McCarthy
OMG, it just looks awesome, I hope you have time to finish rendering this! I don't have much to comment on except to ask what kind of tree is that?! Is that XFrog tree or Speedtree? Also, I just noticed, I am not too entirely sure, but do Asian architecture have gutters on the roof??
mohamedberry
great work voltaire fantastic lights & amazing tree i just dont like the low antialising (sampling quality)... and yellowish wood has no feel, like its a painted wood (and as i know that doesnt apply on asian architecture;))... and there is a strange shadow near the fence on the grass, where does that come from ? i'm sure it took a loooooong time to render with that huge number of faces for the tree (heard there will be a MAX 7.5 with improved new hair & fur system soon). awesome work though keep on working, and teaching us too
voltaire_ira
thanks for the comments. the tree is xfrog, i might re-map it using a different wood texture. The roof doesn't have any gutters. Most asian houses do not have any gutters. mohamed, i rendered this one using vray..it was done first using MR but it took a looong time to render ( lots of faces)..im still waiting for the 7.5 update. aa settings were at low settings since it's a wip..i'll post the update maybe later.. thanks for the comments. Alex York
you know... those low AA settings are working nicely here, since they make the image look more photographic (read: blurred). the lighting is just stunning! I probably wouldn't even change a thing to this. but if you're definitely going to re-render, I would be tempted to fake that dodgy blurring look again in post. it just works really nicely. funny how destroying your work often makes it more believeable... Brian Cassil
Nice image. In addition to the couple of comments I would look a little more closely at your grass texture. A material that had more variation in it would be a lot nicer I think.
donix
impressive work dude. but i do agree with brian with the grass. other things are ok. send my regards to alvin abrea. tell him to study hard in making cgs. tnx.
Zeilveen
Well done, I like the atmosphere of the picture. Camera angle is nice and showing a very nice focus of the bed / futon. Only thing I noticed was the rather high stone tiles of the terras. I would lower them and add some grass spites near the edge. Overall looking very very good.
