Animation and Trees

Hello all,

I am getting ready to start a project that will require a fly by of a building, showing all the landscaping around.

 

Has anybody done animations with landscapes and trees, if so, what kind of software have you used for the trees? I can imagin doing one with the 3d trees that I have. It would probably take a zillion years to render.

Same here,

 

I'm starting a similar landscaping project next week (16 km2, appr 250 trees in 2 rows along the roads surrounding the scenery) and I don't have a clue what speeds up the rendering of a 30 sec. animation and still keeping the quality good enough. There must be some way isn't it?

 

I've thought about easynat-hybrids, that is the fasted way in my tests (beside the regular billboard-hell and rpc's).

 

Anybody a great solution? Thanks in advance....

I caved in and got speed tree - nice plugin for alot of trees.

I'll go for speedtree. Especially the price/quality looks pretty fair to me so why wait?
