William Alexander
Hey all, Many may know about the Pixel Corps through DV garage, many don't. Well in terms of CG Architecture Work, most would think that anything VFX is not all that relevent or CG Architecture is something unto itself. It's all the same stuff, maybe a little less animation / moving compositing. I've been envolved with the Pixel Corps since the Beta Session over the Summer. I really just want to express that this is a great oppurtunity to advance your technical skills, grow into other fields and just generally improve your artistic skills. All at your own pace, for $150.00 US per 3months (Plus a $50.00 one time new member fee), nothings free, sorry. Here is a to a page with a description, check out the links in the center of the page. Please if you interested don't sign up / join from this link: http://pixelcorps.com/session_info.php and a link to free tutorials, you have to register, and I don't know which ones are there but I'm sure I've seen them..... http://www.pixelcorps.com/training/index.php The software (Training) access alone is an incredible value..... Maxon's Cinema 4D; SoftImage's XSI; REALVIZ's Image Modeler, Stitcher and Matchmover Pro; 2D3's Boujou Bullet; ZaxWerk's Pro Animator; Luxology's Modo; and AutoDesSys's FormZ...among others. Plus shake, After Effects and PhotoShop trianing. All in a production get to the core and make it work environment, No fluff. Just good solid information to get the job done. All of the training is directly related to challenges with postings in a forum setting. The challenges range from pretty basic to really advanced, in all areas of CG VFX for all of the sessions applications Grab your cameras, sketchpad /wacom, just for fun and do the photo challenges or Ian Mciags Drawing challenges. A fun and painless way to increase your artistic skills. There is something for everyone to learn in the Pixel Corps. From you, yes you just lurking around this site wanting to join in, to the best CGviz artists here who might really want to learn the VFX compositing skills for animation of thier scenes, for example. Sure would be cool to model, skin, animate and composite your own people and entourage into that heavy polyount city scene . Without it taking years to learn how to do it on your own, not to mention having to buy the applications, just to learn how to use them. Access to $20,000 worth of software to learn on, plus some other possible software related benefits. I've posted about this before. This time I come bearing gifts.... 1. This is proir to the public release of the opening for the spring session, there is a hard cap on numbers of total members...first come first serve. 2. By using this URL you get $25.00 of off the $150.00 membership fee for the spring session http://www.pixelcorps.com/join.php?refid=48038 3. Using this code >> PXC2005-S 4. That is a total $100US off of the new member registration fee and spring term membership fee, $100US for all of what's mentioned above and whole lot more for the first three months or as its called a session. ($150.00/session afterwards, if you sign up for 6 or 12 months there is a discount also) Wish I could tell you more, but I can't speak to many of the specifics and this post is already long winded. I'll answer any questions anybody has, as I can just... post them here. You can also ask questions in the forum section of the Pixel Corps Main page... http://www.pixelcorps.com/index.html .... in the forum section, there is a general questions forum open to the public. Check it out! It's worth taking a look at. And yes, in full disclosure, someone will ask after a sales pitch like that;). I get a little kick back if you use the URL listed in this post to join. I would have posted, just as I have done previously, and highly recommend the Pixel Corps as soon as it was open for individuals to sign up. Please only use the link if you seriously want to join....... Cheers WDA

Tim Nelson
That's cool William. I looked at some of those sample tutorials and they are great. Unfortunately I don't think I have enough time to spend $50 worth a month on this site. This would be something good for me during the holiday months when business slows down a little. Thanks for sharing though. Now I know where to go for learning time. It really annoys me when people come into CGA for the first time just trying to sell something, but you are such a valued & respected member here I welcome you sharing this with us. And hey if you can make a couple bucks, then good for you!

And hey if you can make a couple bucks, then good for you! Tim, Thanks and thanks for taking a look! I understand about the time thing and da money! Doing a sales pitch here doesn't thrill me, at all. In particular in the Realm of anything 'Architectural'... , and of course sounding like a goofball fanatical propaganist used car salesman nut. I'm an honest man. I only 'sell' what I believe in- this is a good oppurtinity and many around this site could gain a great deal. Thats from a fellow member who really just wants everyone to succede and not have to learn a lot of the basics, the hard way- no BS. piotrgreg, Sorry if it seems like propaganda, not my intentions...... it's cool though and kind of expected . piotrgreg
well, I am junior here, no doubt... sorry wda for my comments, but this is the first time I face the place in the net that one has to pay for tutorials; nevertheless the choice is on cgmembers' side i.e. - to make its own research around different internet free forums, share doubts to other members, read books, use software help resources and save money for sth that u definitely has to pay for ( software and hardware) or - deal with sites like u propose I tried to get there, but ( u did not cheat!) they just charge u for registration lol no comments Piotr
Tim Nelson
I see no problem for such sites charging for tutorials. Its obviously very thoroughly developed and there for immediate viewing at your fingertips. You can spend days searching the net for tutorials on how to do something and still not find what you are looking for. I learned more in 5 minutes from watching those sample tutorials than I have in the past 2 weeks from anything else.
