PJ1
I have been an Accurender user for 7 years and don't want to bother with Accurender 4 when it comes out, as I have never been convinced with the vibrant colours it produces on external renders, although interior rendering is not too bad. I am starting to use Viz but I am finding it a bit of a steep learning curve. Has anyone else made the switch or can offer any advice to simplify things? m3willia
If ease of use is what your looking for, definitely look into Maxwell Render. After modelling is done, it take literally 5 minutes to setup very realistic exterior lighting conditions. It is still in the alpha stage, but there are very few settings so a baby could learn all the functions in no time.
PJ1
Is there a link to a free download?
m3willia
There is no free version yet. But I have heard rumors of an evalutation version in the works for the near future.
jtiscareno
Pj1 I was in the same boat that you are in, had use accurender from '96 to 2004 and liked it a lot, I think that I mastered it very well but the most annoying thing to me about it was the amount of time it took to calculate radiosity on interiors, on very complex interiors it took as much as 10 to 12 hours to do a very good solution so I had to be 100% finished and sure of the final model and materials. I had started to fiddle with Viz in 2003 but jumped totally into it early last year, Brazil helped a lot in this process beacuse with only a few settings one could get a good exterior shoot with only global illumination. Now I have moved to Max7 have not figured out how to setup fast with MentalRay...any suggestions from others???? Two things have helped on the transition: 1: Try as many tutorials as you can, specially the lighting and materials. 2: This forum, if you get stuck on trivial or complicated things(and you will) just post a question in the correct section and you WILL get a fast and accurate respones, the guys/gals here are just great! For Brazil and Vray there are free working version to try them out. But the advice that I have gotten is to first get the hang of the scanline renderer of Viz and then jump to Brazil, VR, MR or Maxwell. Good luck and keep us posted on the progress, oh another thing, post your stuff in the WIP section , c & c are very helpful.

AJLynn
This is a five year old thread, I think its moment has passed. And that looks a lot like the sort of work I was getting with Viz 5 years ago, before I started using Vray Free.
Fran
I think this is a good argument for locking threads that are inactive for 12 months or more.

Inxa
Why are there 4 threads regarding Accurender asking nearly the same thing :S Kind of spamming isn't it.
akinlolugboji
Accurender isn't for core renderers just for folks who need a killer images once in a while and are not ready to dive in the deep ends of V-Ray and others.
