Devin Johnston
I use all Opterons haven't had a single problem and I'm going to get a very nice performance boost once Windows goes to a 64 bit platform.

Unfortunately it won't matter untill Max goes 64bit, I hope that they will be releasing some news on that soon...
Allen
Waiting for Dual Core, 64 bit processors ...oh and putting aside enough $ to buy them. Lightwave has a 64 bit program running - looks like it should be released the same time as Windows64.
Devin Johnston
I think all the major 3D apps will have to move over to 64 bit fairley soon, they will probably offer 32 & 64 bit versions of their new software at least for a limited time.

glenoe12
Opteron is definitely the best choice on performance and value for money! Surprisingly, Intel's next generation chips are following Opteron's format. Until now, no sign of surprise yet from Intel if they have better processors to rival the new Opteron. Beno
Waiting for Dual Core, 64 bit processors ...oh and putting aside enough $ to buy them. Lightwave has a 64 bit program running - looks like it should be released the same time as Windows64. First preliminary benchmark on Dual Core Athlon FX 64 2.4 Ghz + had a 1.87 X performance increase using Cinebench. That put it slightly above the Dual Opteron 250. That's amazing. Dual Core seems to be the way to go, especially with D.C. Opterons scheduled in the Q3 2005.
