Brian Cassil
This is a little bit of a take off of the cinema thread, but if you haven't seen the new Star Wars trailor you should go over to www.starwars.com and check it out. I was so determined to not get my hopes up for this movie but after seeing the preview I can't wait.
pmanahan
I read that for Star Wars fans the best part of the last two Star Wars movies was the anticipation before the movies came out. There wasn't a lot of emotion in the last two, too many people talking like Spock, I know I shouldn't mix 'Trek with 'Wars but you know what I mean, no inflection in their voices. Sad when Chewbocka's lines will probably have more passion than the other charactors. pmanahan
IC
The biggest problem for me was the weak characterisation. The trailers were great but the films were flat. One of the best character actors around today, Samuel L. Jackson seemed out of place and an opportunity wasted. Ewan MacGregor is also a great talent but he spent all his time trying to sound like Alec Guinness. Ok Mark Hamill wasn't great but you had Harrison Ford to counteract that and of course the most menacing baddie of all time, Darth Vader. The Sith look like they've just been at a children's face painter.
