Jennifer
Hi, For those that use Outlook, try SpamNet from CloudMark . McAfee's SpamKiller is a complimentary product that let's you send fake 'error' messages, with the intent being of getting off the spammer's lists. Jennifer
Hi, The nice thing about Cloudmark's SpamNet is that users 'vote' every time they block a spammed email, and the system then starts blocking that from everyone else's email box. I have it put the spam in a different mailbox, and it's a good idea to scan that and make sure that it isn't removing email that you want, and empty the spam. When you unblock an email it gives you the opportunity to override the votes of the other users. McAffe's updates periodically, it doesn't catch a lot of new spam, and I find it a bit tiresome to create new filters. Once you do it filters well. You do have to go through the killed email and add any that you want to keep to your "friend" list, and (daily) manually add filters to spam that it doesn't know about. The nice thing about it is that it works with any POP3 mailbox, and it removes the mail from the server. If you specify a sender as a 'friend' it will put the email back on the server. The ability to send error messages does seem to help reduce spam, but takes a few minutes on your part to do it every day, and you need to keep at it. Jeff Mottle
I use Spam Inspector and it catches about 90% of my spam. I get 50-80 emails a day and about 15-20% are spam and very few actually reach my inbox. http://www.giantcompany.com/
