pidge
hi all so here's my question i am running a geforce fx 5600 video card, but for some reason when i change the driver configuration in studio max to open gl my viewports go all scrambled when switch between them, does anyone know how to fix this prob or is it something with my video card settings, one thing that i notice is that when i go to the display settings panel and check the driver details for the plug and play monitor it says"no driver files are required or have been loaded for this device" should it be saying this or not? if anyone could shed so light this would be great, Thanks
Greg Hess
What drivers are you running?

Greg Hess
Have you tried newer drivers direct from nvidia? http://www.nvidia.com If they don't work I'll give you a few driver sets that might.
pidge
yeah I download the latest nvidia drivers for the geforce 5600 but it still seems to do the same thing.
Greg Hess
I'd try uninstalling the old drivers, restarting, (so the comp has no drivers installed), saying no when windows asks if its ok to install the drivers, then manually executing the driver file. pidge
already tried that twice even uninstalled windows and completly reformatted.
Greg Hess
Works fine in Direct3d though? You check to make sure the card is seated fully in the motherboard? (I know it sounds stupid, but check anyway).
pidge
I've just updated the bios from the winfast web site, opened up max with open gl, and it seems to be working,i find that whenever i switch between viewports in a mildly complex scene for the first few times, it's ok, but after awhile it starts playing up,I'll see how this goes and let you know the outcome, thanks for all your help,i would have been lost without ya
