3d-doctor
not 100% but i belive it's custom shortcutssaw something b4 i hit the office today on a webboard about user customising interfacethen again it may be a macromedia mx type of thing
Crazy Homeless Guy
i personally don't like software companies getting away from the standard 4,5,6, ect... it just confuses things in my opinion. yes, they want to sound fresh with a new name, but the version of software you have becomes confusing. besides, mx sounds a lot better than cs. cs reminds me of the middle version of an automobile. you couldn't afford the gt, so you bought the cs model because ti was a little nicer than the baseline. Nice they now use Microsofts way of software activation via internet, as if they don`t have enough information from their users via internet since now :???:
Ernest Burden III
so what does 'cs' stand for anyway? When I first visited the 'coming attractions' page at adobe, I thought it was a special version of the current model. No, it's Photoshop 8.034 3/4 This really is stupid. I think they are reacting to the criticism they got about PS7--a lot of users complained that there was so little new that it didn't deserve a full number, should have been PS6.

MegaPixel
Ok So is it worth getting if you have 7.0? No one seems to have commented on that?
ingo
Since its not available till the end of the year, one can only guess if yes or no. But with that heavy upgrade pricing me thinks not really.
Iain Denby
I hope it can handle more than 1.7gb of ram.
ingo
AFAIK there is no change in the new version, so still no more than 2 GB usable.
Iain Denby
IngoIf you're right I think it will be dissapointing...2gb is not huge these days.
Frosty
From my understanding of CS, it's now 64bit enabled. Great for G5 users and anyone eyeing up a new Athlon 64. If this is correct, I'm sure the 2G rule no longer applys to those situations.
ingo
Oh yes, PS is 64 bit enabled, 16 bit for red, 16 bit for green, 16 bit for blue and a 16 bit Alpha channel And wasn't it just a few weeks ago that Adobe's After Effects was limited to only 1,5 GB ? If you want to know more about these ongoing discussions just go to any Adobe Mac OS X usergroup....
