hbryant
I have been asked to create a business card for a new land development company. The owner likes the look of renderings/illustrations of apartment building that almost look like they were made using watercolors or something like that. He gave me an example of what he likes but I need to find out the legality of using someone else's rendering on other materials not advertising the property or the person who created it. Should I try to contact the artist to get permission or, better yet, is there anything like stock building renderings/illustration that I can use? I would REALLY apperciate any advise. Thanks! JamesTaylor
i'm no lawyer but i'm sure using someone else's images is illegal unless you have prior consent. there are stock photo and image suppliers such as comstockimages.com where you can buy a license to use a certain image and they will probably have a large selection to choose from, but may need adjusting slightly to meet your needs.
