Sketchrender
Good day all Below is an image i am working on as a learning project, to get my head around vray, through max7 I have a few queries.... 1. The Light is yellowish in the shadows,.........why..? 2. Have just placed maps in the diffuse layer within max, but not a vray material, what is the difference betwen using vray as a setting for materials and max standards? 3. This image took 10 min' to render on a 2.8 gzh 1 gb of ram Hp xw4100 workstation, scsi drive How do I speed this up.I have used the secondary bounce to get the best possible light. image set to 800x364 4. I have used a direct light, vray shadows, If I use a photmetric light skylight system with the compass, The location of this building will be in Zambia so the light will be strong, but it always appears white and the illum setting is way up to 65+, what can i do to get a realistic light setting? Long mail I know but if anybody can help i would be gratefull. thanks in advance phil
lambros
1. well, for a start, the shadows are yellowish due to color bleeding. Color bleeds from the ground, perhaps the sky has an effect on that. As you can read in another post, there is a workaround, you can adjust the saturation parameter to decrease color bleeding. 2. Vray does support standard max materials, but it is recommended to use vray materials, especially when you need to achieve special effects, use refraction, or light emmiters. 3. 10 min is not that bad at all! to reduce render time you may decrease secondary bounces or choose lower quality settings, but you wouldn't want to do that, would you? I suppose that you can use lower settings for drafts. 4. I don't think that I can help you on that, I don't really use the sunlight system. I prefer to manually position lights. I am sure that the vray forums can be of great help on vray materials and color bleeding issues!
