Eric
I'm about to build my own system, and am a bit confused about the Operating System requirements for the AMD Athlon 64 3200 64bit processor. I think I understand that I can use my current copy of Windows 2000 Professional when I upgrade to my new system, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know for sure if I can use my old Win2k Prof? Or do I need a new version built for the 64bit systems?

Eric
Uh, okay, so I guess that means I can in fact use my Current Win2k Prof on my new AMD 64bit system? I've read some people talking about WinXP 64, so that is what made me start wondering. what about this MAX 7.0 64 bit edition running on windows xp 64 with a prescott 5ghz 64 bit with 2 megs of cache. Greg Hess
Stick with either Win2k, or Windows XP. The Athlon 64 is one of the fastest 32 bit processors on the market currently, the fact that it can do 64 bit is just a plus that will enable future utilization of technology. Windows XP 64 is still in beta, and not very fast right now...I'd wait till the final version becomes available.
