MegaPixel
This question is for anyone with Archvision RPC experience. I've just purchased a few trees and an ornamental grasses & shrubs volume from archvision for use in an exterior animation. I need some advice from previous users on lighting the rpcs to match the scene and improving rpc shadow quality. I have my rpc's 100% self illuminated with scene lighting and they still appear too dark. Also, the shadows cast by the rpcs are not really perpandicular to my sun source (which is raytraced), they look kind of slanted and skewed. Any tips would be greatly appreaciated. Also, if there are better looking - more effective ways to do trees/plants for exterior animations then please suggest them to me. I'm trying to go for a look similar to this: http://www.rmdesignstudio.com/animations.htm Thanks - Mega Using MAX
vertexART
Hi there, try with 'treeshop', an old app for Max 5 it was, but still working. Though you will need alpha trees and peeps, instead of ArchVision's RPC. Treeshop has a nice feature called 'camera follow' so it works quite well. Spend some time to read the manual on how to setup your own libs of plants, trees and people. But, those .tiff's are hard to find also. Hope it helps, I may render U a short anim with it. lambros
Rpcs are hard to match, so do not expect to get a perfect result. Some trees fit better a scene than others, and shadows sometimes feel a bit off. So, either conform with that, or try other solutions, like speedtree or bionatics
superdave
I ran across this today check it out it looks promising. I have not had time to try it myself but from the sound of it it might be a good thing. Good Luck.
