Hatch pattern file

Where are the hatch pattern files kept? I downloaded a hatch pattern and want to add it to the default list. I want it available in my hatch patten drop down box.

Mark, what software are you using? i'm going to assume its autocad. in that case the hatch patterns go in the "support" folder.

 

the default is C:\Program Files\Autocad(whichever version)\support.

I dragged the file to the support folder but i noticed it is a drawing file. What type of file should it be? I can't find it in my drop down box when I hatch an object. Any suggestions?

go to

 

c:\Documents and Settings\(your username)\Application Data\Autodesk\(AutoCAD or LT version)\enu\support

 

you then need to add your new hatch data to the end of files (open in notepad):-

 

acad.pat

acadiso.pat

 

make sure you save both as the original file extension, not .txt like notepad will want you to. your new hatches should now be in with the rest when you open up autocad.
