LunaCyborg
Of all the pictures i have seen of architectural rendering i noticed something: They all are made in flat surfaces. But what would be the best approach to make one that have entrances with curved ways and slopes and how to map them?
tuekappel
welll...architecture is often orthogonal (some say, it's becaus rulers are straight, and architects are lazy...), and so the renderings will have orthogonal surfaces. if you want to model with curves and curved surfaces, i would very much recommend a piece of software calle Rhinoceros, by McNeel. it's awfully cheap, and is a higly qualified NURBS modeller (NURBS surfaces are the most common way to describe curvatures. ) All the other software packages can model curvatures, but none as good as Rhino, in my honest opinion. [edit:] oops, i didn't see which forum this was posted. i have no experience in C4D. but give Rhino a try anyway :-)
DennisHolland
Hi, if you have a straight texturemap, the only way to have it mapped in the curve of your entrance (for instance) is modelling the entrance using the lofting technique (without uv mapping afterwards ofcourse)...
