how to get transparency in reflections?

I have opaque reflective walls w/ some perpendicular, transparent fins attached (like the bottom of a "T" shape)...

when I render a view, the fins are transparent, but the reflection in the wall are not!... is this an issue with recursive rays?

I'm using radiosity, lit only with a sky object

How do I fix this?

It may be from 'ray depth', render settings, options. That controls how many surfaces will be penetrated, either with transparency or alpha channel. Or its the 'reflection depth', just below it. You need to have a high enough number to account for all surfaces. There is also a 'shadow depth' that controls how 'deep' shadows will be seen.

How about a real location in your profile?
