Josh1587140445
Here is a project that I am currently working on. Building is modeled using VIZ 4 and rendered using VrayFree. Any comments would be helpful. Or if someone has a dark gray shingle that does not tile as bad as the one that I have. Thanks in advance.
Tim Nelson
Josh, it looks great! Except for the roof of course. I think you should try playing around with a 'tiles' map for your roof and see what you can come up with. I think you should be able to pretty accurately imitate an asphalt shingle material using that, and easily get rid of the tiling problem. Other than that, I think you could improve the glass a little by giving it something to reflect other than a solid background. And maybe not so much color in the glass. Good work though - it looks really detailed.
Chad Warner
One thing that I have used for shingles is a blend material, using a black and white image of the "lines" of the shingles for the mask between the two blend materials. Then for the "shingle" material, just use a cellular map with the color of the granules in the shingle, In this case, grey, and use a darkish grey/black color for the second material, where the "shadows" would be. Josh1587140445
Chad, That sounds like a good idea. Do you happen to an example of that or a screen shot of the settings?
