Please could someone here help me out of a tight spot...does anybody have any reasonable size photos of a silver birch tree ?

(It's that tree that has white bark - I have to place two of them right in front of a new building .)

I have been round 2 parks today trying to photograph some, but the weather is crap here in London, and they don't have any leaves on them yet.

I would need the entire tree, preferably without any stuff behind it, except sky, so I can mask it.

I will also post this message up on cgtalk.

Alternatively, if you know of a company that would have some for sale, please could you also let me know?

Many thanks.

Cheers,

Hi Dennis, thanks for the referral - Sorry to be so thick, but I couldn't exactly find any "blossoming" silver birches specifically.

I did look at the 2D tree texture library( with alphas) but couldn't find an actual silver birch.

You couldn't post a link to an exact one could you?

Many thanks indeed.

Thanks for that, Dennis.

Those must be 3D trees, right?

Unfortunately, my image is about 3000px high, and the trees take up about half of that so I need some quite high res. actual photographic images to look convincing.

Aaagh...the BBC 5-day forecast says no sun here till Saturday - so I'm hoping that the weather, and leafiness of the trees here, will improve before my deadline!

(Almost every other tree apart from silver birch seems to have soome leaves on by now.)

But as the leaves are tiny, and the branches really thin, they are also going to be the very devil to mask, so I do need to find a single tree, in a park, against a really blue sky background. All the ones round here seem to be planted in groups, which makes masking them out individually almost impossible.

Oh well, the rest of the job was easy enough. At least I'll have a silver birch for the future if I sort this out.

Cheers,

D.

just did a quick search on gettyimages.com and there are one page of just silver birches ,but none are full shots or with easy backgrounds, maybe you could just paint and combine a couple of images together.http://creative.gettyimages.com/source/classes/FrameSet.aspx?&UQR=msubbx&pk=4&source=front&lightboxView=1&txtSearch=silver%20birch&chkLicensed=on&chkRoyaltyFree=on&selImageType=7
