Isurunath
Hi everybody! I am an architectural student and just completed my undergraduate studies. I am currently using AutoCad architectural desktop and 3DS Max 5 for my 2d and 3d work and on the lookout for a new PC. I am not very good when it comes to hardware specifications and would be grateful for any help given. What I need to know is shlould I go for a AMD processor or Pentium 4 processor and if so how much Mhz and also concerning the software I use what level of Ram should I have inorder to run things smoothly. Thanks in advance for any help provided. My email address is isurunath@hotmail.com
bigcahunak
Hi. From your question, I understand you aren't talking about a dual CPU machine. Duals are what we usually talk about here lately, however, if you are not going to be rendering day and night, I'd say that a strong CPU, from both Intel and AMD, are adequate to get the job done. Here is what I recomend: If you go AMD, make sure its on an Nvidia nforce 2 chipset, and if its P4 then either an Intel875P, Intel E7205 or SIS655 chipsets. I'd go with 512Mb RAM minimum (1Gb is probably a good choise). Hope it helps. Good luck.
