My final crit on this project is next week so any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I probably won't change the design much but rendering feedback and photoshop improvements would be real helpful. Oh, and I modeled it in SketchUp and rendered with Max.

i think it's a good start taylor...

-the first thing i noticed was the trees. those things are pretty bad.

you can get a better tree at http://www.3d-trees.com enter the site, select 3d plants, then max/viz, volume 1. at the bottom there is a free download. you'll have to update the jpg's for the material that comes with it though.

Richard also posted this the other day: http://www.cgarchitect.com/vb/showthread.php?t=10206

all of these will hurt your rendering times, but it will be worth it for your final presentation. don't let them take over the building though.

-second, try to find a better background, those clouds hitting the horizon line is not realistic. try: http://www.mayang.com/textures/Nature/html/Clouds/index.html

make sure to get the horizon of the image close to the horizon of your max scene...so things look natural.

-third, i'd raise the camera and try to get a better shot. i feel like i'm laying in the street. you might want to straighten your verticals by rotating the camera and getting rid of that 3pt perspective...the target and camera will be level at that point.

-fourth, try to add in some surrounding buildings. there must be something there right? where is the site located? it looks like the building is out in the middle of nebraska or something...oh wait...

your modeling looks clean, besides the curb in the foreground. lighting looks pretty good and even, kid of hard to tell with a small image. texturing seems okay too, grass is hard to pull off. what are you using for your lighting setup?

hope that helps...post an update if you can.
