eyeronik
PROBLEM WITH LIGHT SHINING ON WINDOW ^^ PROBLEM WITH LIGHT SHINING ON TABLECLOTH^^ This is my first real project with max creating something real. Im no expert and dont expect to get amazing results as yet. Im using max 7, vray free render, one direct light, one omni with vray shadows. Most of the textures are my own. Id like it to look more realistic on the walls, but dont really know how. I cannot use vray lights as I have no access to them. (Some of this room isnt textured and also its not finished, many objects go in it) So I'm really hoping someone has suggestions to make the walls and ceiling better lit. I have much a 5 There is a problem too with the omni shining in the window, does anyone know how to fix it? the blue blob on the window? Any suggestions on how to improve realism on the walls and ceilings would be good too
manta
I would use a direct instead of omni, with some volume light, and is the ceiling really that dark or is it just not receiving any light ?
eyeronik
Well I had the direct with volume light coming through the window, it starts outside, but it doesnt seem to give much light and the shadows dont seem to work. So I put in an omni
STRAT
is your light attenuated?
Jason Matthews
Make sure GI is enabled and that the bounces are correct. Try only using one light instead of 2. Se the environment in the Vray setup to 1.5 or so.
eyeronik
No its not attutated. I have solved it now. I thought I thought put the light outside the window rather than in and that removed the glow part. This lead to another problem with a huge random shadow appearing but after max crashed and I had to reset all my lighting (its done that bout 3 times which is annoying) it seems to of gone. Im sure it will be back later to annoy me though. Ill try those environment settings, although im looking for a dark atmosphere and im not sure why you suggested them
