Hello all, just newbie to the forum. I just found something the other day that would might be helpfull. it's about when you want to open a dxf from CAD In lightwave (i done this in lightwave 8 so far) when I Open a dxf in lightwave the size of say maybe a meeting room can go up to 10 km big. so then I have to scale it down in modeler. So enough blabbering here is the solution.

Have a plan in auto cad Scale this plan to 1/100 (if it's not already that)

then Scale again to 1/100000

remeber to explode the plan some stuff gets left behind ocasionally.

save as a dxf file.

Open in modeler voila! you should have an extremely accurate to scale plan.

Hope this helps anyone. Im just really exited i actually found this method.

Cheers :D

Actually, Kameel, it would depend on the UNITS used in AutoCAD. When using "Imperial" units (inches, feet, etc.) it ends up needing to be scaled as follows.

For Civil engineering drawings scale down 30.48% (feet to meter) when importing

For Architectural drawings scale down to 2.54% of original. (inch to meter)

I wish that NewTek would add import preset scales.
