bully712
I was just handed a cd of an animation. We want to insert the animation into Power Point. I was hoping to change the file to a .avi in Premiere Elements. I explorered the CD, and there is a VOB file on it. Is there anyway to insert this file into Premiere so I can change the format to an AVI? Of course this is a rush, so any help will be apreciated... Jeff Mottle
The "CD" you have sounds to me like a DVD. At least that is where you would normally find a VOB file. You will need to either purchase or find a free "Ripping" software to convert the VOB file to an AVI. Try searching Google for "DVD to AVI" or "DVD Ripper" or "DVD to Divx"
Jape
type vob2avi in google and you'll find a whole range of software that will do the job. You do probably need some codecs (divx or xvid), check divx-digest.com for those
bully712
Thanks Jeff and Jaap for your suggestions. I found, and tried a few Rippers from the internet, and alot of them would only do a portion of the Animation with the trial version. Also some of them were taking hours. I'm currently using one now that looks like it's going to take a little over an hour. I just hope it converts the whole animation

Brent Bily
Try This! Just rename the .VOB extension to end with .MPG Test it out in Windows media player or other player. Now insert into PowerPoint. No conversion required!!! Should take all of 10 seconds!!

bully712
Try This! Just rename the .VOB extension to end with .MPG Test it out in Windows media player or other player. I did try that first.. Didn't seem to work. I used ImTOO DVD Ripper. The trial version only did 5mins, and the animation that I was converting was 5min. 21 sec. I didn't lose anything with that 21 sec. so it was not a big deal.

Brent Bily
I'm assuming that the CD was created in-house and is not copyrighted! If it is copyrighted or protected do you have permission to use it??

I didn't have time to create it in house.
