graphic max problem

Recommended Posts

hi all,

i have recently reinstalled my computer and installed 3dsmax 6, in my dual xeon processor.

also i have install 2 vga, 1 in pci and 1 in agp mode. my system start in pci mode becuase if not, it didnt run 2 vga.

my problem is that i can't see textured models in viewports, and this is a big problem, xD.

it make me lose a lot of time.

i try to install maxtreme 6 but it dont work because the system run in pci mode and it can't detect an nvidia graphic card, however i have one, an elsa gloria III.

why i can't see the textures in my viewport ? somebody known the problem ?

for my agp drive i'm using the latest nvidia drivers. 4.5.28 for my nvidia quadro2.

and for the pci i'm using the windows drivers.

in 3dsmax i choose openGL, because can't try maxtre6, but i can't also see the textured models.

:__(((

yes, i try it.

i can only see the texture in viewport if i choose or maxtreme6 (only with agp card) or software Zbufer( with one or two monitors).

in openGL i can't see the texture (1 or 2 monitors).

its very strange, i don't understand.

in viewport configuration appears

openGL (NVIDIA CORPORATION V 1.4.0). there are some newer driver ?

So with maxtreme you can see textures...but not in ogl or d3d?

What directx version are you using?

I'd consider uninstalling your current drivers, and then reinstalling them on the next reboot.

According to nvidia, your using the last recommended set for max, 4.5.2.8.

If that doesn't do it, try the latest drivers, which is 53.03.

thanks for all, i think that i resolved my problem.

i uninstalled my drivers and the application.

i reinstalled drivers, 4.5.28 and reinstalled max apllication and voilá.

thanks for all.

but another question is if maxtreme drivers can run with 2 monitors.

do you know?

the problem is that my pc boot in pci mode for supporting 2 monitors, and the first vga isn't nvidia.

there are any way to tell the maxtreme driver to use nvidia card before pci card?

thanks a lot

If the monitor thats being driven by your AGP (nvidia) card is set up as the primary monitor then you should be ok.

to check just right click on the desktop choose properties select the settings tab, make sure the monitor on the nvidia card is high lighted in the window and down below make sure "Use this device as the pimary monitor" is selected and hit ok.
