Jamie Cardoso
The following tutorial depicts the process of grabbing the Google street view map and automatically transforming it into a full panoramic map, followed by inserting it into a 3D environment, for reflections. The article can be found in the following link: http://jamiecardoso-mentalray.blogspot.co.uk/2015/01/google-maps-to-streetview-grabber.html . ryannelson
Thanks for the link! I've often wondered if you could save the spherical image from google to use for this purpose!

Ernest Burden III
gave it a try--works a treat! It's true that the imagery is not really all that great, but it can be a decent base to model over, build backgrounds. Once you have the pano, it is pretty easy to render out to flats. Here I have four that would form a square, but it can be wider for an elevation, too. I have to put a sculpture of mirrored balls in front of this building, need a reflection map. Now. How about a similar tool for grabbing from Bing streetview? Often Bing's images are better than Google's. Also Nokia has here.com with streetview and I think those are the ones Apple uses.
