Additional licenses needed for 3ds max render pc?

Hello im planning to buy a new pc and use the old one (still quite powerful) as a "render farm" (machine). I wanted to ask, as for vray i would have to buy additional render node license for vray. But as for 3ds max goes, as far as i know and read on the internet, im OK with only 1 3ds max license, if i use one as a workstation i can use another 99 or 999 as render nodes for free all i need to do is to instal backburner on that other pc...

 

do i get it right or am i wrong?
