1. Thanks for your comments guys!... As a matter of fact The Original Grout is pretty big (see the pic)...so I tried to keep it that way...(There were no bricks but a ornament simulating bricks or something on the walls) With the girl on the stairs I tryed to show some movement, (Like the ghostly guy upstairs.. top-center of the image) I think I exagerated a little "too much" transparency for the girl (coldn't see her underwear though...) hahahaha!!! Next time I'll do better!...and "Scrat" I intentionally elliminated the shadows from the walls...look at the undesirable shadows of the sculptures on the walls in the picture I attached...my intention wasn't to be "super reallistic" but create a kind of "atmosphere" or something...But I am agree with you... the walls without the shadows looks kinda flat!... Thanks again for your posts!
2. Studio/Institution: Odart Graterol Client: OPENGAP (Remodeling competition 2010) Genre: Institution Software: 3D max 2009/ Vray 1.5 /Photoshop CS4/Lightroom 3 Website: http://ogaa.jimdo.com/ Description: This, was one of the concept images I submitted for the competition to remodel the entrance of the Ateneo de Madrid, organised by OPENGAP on 2010
3. In my next post I'm going to show a pair of images with some post-production...some times the post effects helps a lot!
4. Studio/Institution: Arch. Odart Graterol (ogaa) Client: OAN Genre: Residential Exterior Software: Autocad 2010, 3sd Max, Vray 1.5 Website: http://ogaa.jimdo.com/ Description: The challenge here (for me), was working with a Fibonacci's spiral plan (and make it functional for a low-income-housing project comunity in India, and try to figure out the right mapping for the bamboo frame in it differents parts...It was quite hard), Completely raw...There is no post production here yet... It was modeled in Autocad 2010 and rendered in 3ds max using vray...I worked in two prototypes...this is one of them.
5. Great Job! There is a lot of work here! isn't it?
6. It is a joke about "I wish I could be the author of these images"...but I'm not! It is a way to say they are great, but I'm not the one who was able to do it. Pd: Is like when you like a fancy car like a Ferrari , but you can't aford it, you said "The only thing I don't like about the car is that I'm not the owner! Got it? I wish I could be able of doing images like yours, that is what I meant.
7. The only thing I dislike is that "it was not me who made them!" Great Job Bro!
8. I Would do something like this...basically increase contrast, some grain and textures, depth of field...it is like "tarnish the image" a little bit. Hope It helps and like you!
9. Wow! Great job Matheus...By the way what kind of trees are those?... I Like the Atmosphere you've created here. I would have added another lights inside the house (behind the curtains on the first floor 1st image) but this is just personal taste, the image is great the way you made it. It would be interesting (at least for me) to see the same images but using day lights. Have a Happy New Year in company to your loved ones!
10. Jon curious and interesting vision. I had not seen from that perspective. Thx a lot for your comment. Have a happy New Year in company to your loved ones.
11. Thanks Jonathan for your kind comment. About Mr. "you know"...it is difficult to find out where to start...but basically We, as inhabitants of this country, have much more problems today than yesterday...the situation is worse and worse everyday for people like me who only wants to live and work in peace with our families. Today we fear for our lives due to the increasing levels of insecurity and every day is more difficult to earn the "daily bread". I hope this will change in 2012 when we are supposed to have presidential elections again. May God help us! Good luck and have a great 2011!
12. Studio/Institution: Odart G Architect Client: Carlos Coll Genre: Residential Exterior Software: Autocad 2000/3D Max 3.0/Photoshop/Topaz/Lightroom Description: Sometimes when the result does not please us at all, we can always use tools that give us photography...in this case "the colors" (Believe me, you don't want to see the originals...well, I dare not show them)... wasn't good at all, even some umpleasent elements of contrast, brightness makes the result, let´s say "Rare beautifull" (I mean iagh!)...so in this case I decided "Why not trying with a B&W image?" Look what happened... Pd: By the way, the originals were made about 10 years ago...(When We use to have something more to do in my country apart from politics and we have some projects to work in!)
13. Studio/Institution: Odart G & Carlos P Architects Client: Intl´Architecture Competition 2001 Malecón de Maracaibo Genre: Other Software: Autocad/3D Max Description: This is a Different kind of Renders...And just part of the total presentation. We used this aesthetic to create a conceptual atmosphere to our proposal for an Architecture Intl´Competition 10 years ago in Venezuela. The competition was about renewing the bay, Port and public market area in a zone known as "El Malecón de Maracaibo"...sadly we didn´t win ...but We still like the images ...and of course, our proposal.
14. Wow! the image with the bottle!...amazing (It's hard for me to beleive that was rendered in Autocad!). The other image is neat, clean... a little "toon-atmosphere" but nice!...the landscape remembers me the accurender module for autocad. Very good piece of work my friend!
15. hahaha! Paul I have a similar situation right now with "my creatures" (a pair of Schnauzers in my bed at this moment and having the same kind of problems while typing)...And I Think the same! and Autocad's render engine is still way behind mental ray or Vray and also veeerrrryyyyy slooooooowwww!!!!...although I usually model in Autocad and perform the file link with Max in order to work with the textures, illumination, etc...the thing here is that my former clients were very "stingy" and didn't deserve it...hahaha!
16. Abdel I like the model. I see a lot of work here!. Although (in order to improve it) If I were you, I should work more in the texture and/or color of the plants (they look a little too shiny for my taste in order to get a "more natural" look). About "The scale" of the objects, I think that if you reduce the size of the map in the red and white marble on the counter a little bit, you solve the problem...Sometimes "the real size of a map" like a brick in a distance for example, has to be re-adjusted to a "fake" size in order to "cheat" the eye...depending on the observer's distance. About the illumination I would try "turning on" the lights below the bar to see what happens, and in general, work on the decay value of the rest of the lights to get more realism and also control the reflections in the wood of the bar. In the big lamps of the ceiling I would increase a little the transparency of the cristals...another good idea is to try to simulate a Tyndall effect (Light scattering) adding some fog and make the light create some nice "Atmosphere" effects passing through...but I have to say, I've tried this, and It is very difficult to control it and get a good result!...finally If you open the image in Photoshop and Apply (Auto tone, Auto Contrast, Auto Color...from the image menu) you split the whites from the Greens on the ceilings and (beleive me, I've tested on your image) the image improves A LOT!...Despite all these (we're among pro's in this site and our eyes are meticulous for approaching perfection). Despite all these I think it is a good work pal! I hope my comments could help
17. Studio/Institution: Odart G Architect Client: Various Genre: Retail Interior Software: Autocad 2010 Description: I decided to upload this images in order to show and comment (If any) the results obtained with the use of Autocad's Render engine with no further photoshop or anything else...just the way they came from the rendering process...(There were not enough time to do so, and most important: no enough money to "persuade me" got in to a more complex workflow...(Autocad-3Dmax-Vray-Photoshop)...so I decided to "do my best" using only Autocad Waiting for your comments...
