1. I thought Id create this thread so I can post models Im working on that are available for artists, also get feedback since you guys are the ones that will be using them. Also Id like to get a gauge on what you do and dont like (it can be anything from the design to the polycount or something that looks like it needs attention etc). I want to ensure the quality reflects the user experience essentially. Everything is original made and royalty free, you can use commercially or for projects whatever you like. Furniture Kitbash Set My idea for the first pack of models (there will be around 36) in this one is specifically for kitbashing, Im also providing them directly in case you want just a few pieces of the set without needing the whole lot or if you want to test out the quality. The idea behind this set is when doing exterior renderings of large apartments/house facades it would be nice to have a set of kitchens, living rooms, dining, plants, accessories etc that you can scatter using forestpro (ill also have this setup so you can just place it on colored squares or spline shapes) and then it automatically populates and randomly switches furniture sets/materials for each furniture piece, render below). It will also stick to the floor for furniture, pendants to the ceilings, artwork to the walls etc saving us time to focus on the exterior layout. Also by using forestpro it can clip by distance so your furniture doesnt need to render per camera saving ram etc if required. The kit-bash set is specifically Low Polygon but keeping to a high standard (erring on the side of quality). Textures based on geometry size and keeping them all to around 512-1024px because of the distance involved, as well as having mostly basic materials (when I can, sometimes larger textures if really necessary to maintain quality). Also having them low poly (Keeping each set under 80k is the goal) means you can have many in the viewport with native mesh without causing problems, so far with all of these models in the scene I can still navigate at 100fps on a 1060GTX so the goal is it should be the same or close when finished, ill also provide proxy versions for outside cases but for now thats the plan. I would love your feedback on any of these, feel free to jump into the conversation if you feel like you can add value as my hopes are keeping you involved in the creation process might be useful for you too if you have some things you or your business would like made specifically for some project and would be a win-win for both of us, or maybe you just feel like being apart of the design process I would be happy to give discount coupons on these items for those who make contributions that end up effecting the process in a positive way, as Id love to give back to the community that has helped me. Also working on some kitchens at the moment, Im having a tough time deciding on the colors for the stools if you have an opinion on it Id love to hear it (WIP mind you)!
2. Hello, I want to start off by saying that I don't have a formal education in either architecture or design and I'm interested in making architectural visualization as part of my career. So I want to find some books mostly, but really it can be any learning material, that can help me better understand how to create a building, design the interior, create landscapes for an exterior scene, basically the creative part, the decision making process (why add this, why add that, etc). I've watched videos, tutorials, courses on architectural visualization but most of the information is technical, there is very little on the creative process. I already know how to work with 3D software (3ds Max and Blender) and have made some projects, but I'm not really happy with the results. For anyone interested, I upload my work on artstation here. So any recommendations for me to improve on the creative side is most welcomed. Thanks!
3. I wanted to ask people engaged in furniture making and manufacturing, more specifically kitchen cabinets, what do you think of web app online 3D kitchen constructor? Here's the example of project I've recently made using this online software (see attachments). What do yu think of its rendering possibilities? http://prodboard.eu/kitchen/ You can try to design a kitchen yourself and share your opinions about whether it worths time spending, or maybe you know some other apps of this kind that you like more.
4. Good evening everyone! My question for this thread is can someone critique my invoice? I'm trying to come up with the best invoice for freelance CAD/ BIM work and possibly future 3d design. I have this generic Excel invoice that I modified to fit myself for now but would like to create a more professional one. I appreciate any ideas, advice, or input. Here is a screenshot of what I currently am using. The logo is under construction but i do have one for a design company i would like to have in the future. Respectfully, Francis
5. How much money an average sized and top notch 3d visualization company can make in general? Needed to ask this question as I am about to start a new business and need to prepare a proper business model and some solid points for pitching the idea to investors. Any help or idea is highly appreciated.

7. Hello everyone, I'm a designer/architect enthusiast getting started with 3d renderings. Just wondering if there is any similar website such as CGArchitect but dedicated to product/industrial design visualisations. It'd be great to find inspiration in that field, together with community forums, etc. Thanks a lot in advance AM.
8. Hello, First of all, sorry for the long message, as I know you should be very occupied and have little time to read every long messages from unknown persons that arrive here. The thing is that, I am trying to describe why you should talk to me and give me an opportunity, in just a post. It's not an easy task. My name Miguel Duarte Nunes, and I am a 3D Designer, willing to work in any part of the EU (I am portuguese, so I can work in the EU). I am writing to enquire if you have any vacancies in your company, or if you could point me in the right direction. I have a five-year work experience in graphic and retail design and 3D visualisation/ animation (which include a good knowledge of video production, editing and post-production), and I have worked with brands like Puma, Rockport, Timex and Parfois, between others. For the last five years I have been working in the leading online shopping company in Lisbon from which the last two as a Design Manager of a mid-size team providing brand visual communication, interior retail designs and 3D visualisations/animations and videos focusing on customer experience and brand identity. Most of my work, as it was requested by the clients and can be seen on my portfolio, was mostly retail design and 3D visualisations with small animations of the store interiors, however, I feel comfortable with exteriors as well, and some animation. There was also a lot of graphic and web design work that had to be done (almost every graphic element in the 3D stores were my creation), like graphic communications of the brand stores, and every graphic element of the website. I take great pride in the design work I create and always thrive to deliver an effective, focused and creative interiors that fits the company needs and goals. I am an enthusiastic and committed designer, with a keen to detail eye, a hand-on approach and a teamwork mentality. My career goals are a continuous self-improvement. With me you will be having not just a creative designer, but a professional who thrives to be better, and inspires others inside the team to do the same. My portfolio (Please take the time to see it as I really think you will like it, there is also my CV in the websiteMiguelDNunes-CV.pdf) is at: http://migueldnunes.wix.com/design (the logo, and web design of the site are also my creation) I have excellent references and would be delighted to discuss any possible vacancy with you at your convenience. In case you do not have any suitable openings at the moment, I would be grateful if you would keep my information on file for any future possibilities or referrals. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Fernando Miguel Duarte Nunes Mendes

10. Hi all, I am undergoing a project where I require a 3d animator to create a 3d world. Very similar to this in terms of quality and look. See youtube link below. The avatar will infact be a bicyle rather than a 'bike' and simlar to that of what Tracx do. Bike simulation. If you are interested can get in touch. Warm regards, Daley.
11. I want to create a 3d world where i will use a simulator - rowing machine - to action the avatar and move around the environment. This will be 'interactive' so the question for those who know, do i create the world before or do i do it after? what are the traditional steps? Also can anybody share how this is done and is it straight forward? An example of what i mean is done by a company called Tracx. Your knowledge is much appreciated. Warm regards, Daley

The interior design is more influenced by European/Scandinavian design and features furniture from among others Tom Dixon, Konstantin Grcic and my self. I used the scene as a base for developing and learning new skills (HDRI, Fog and Multiscatter). Though the design is minimalistic, I have tried giving the visualizations and interior a bit of warmth. I hope you like it. CC are much appreciated :-)

22. Hi All, I want to mention that my new book PLACES is available to order through http://www.designstudiopress.com or http://www.amazon.com. It contains all my theoretical designs covering the fields of architecture, transportation design, and science fiction, but with an emphasis on architecture and forward thinking. I've worked in the entertainment field for 20 years designing sets for large films for Stephen Spielberg, Ridley Scott, and David Fincher to name a few, and on the side I have spent years building my own environments purely in CG, and rendered them to a very high level, as if you walked into these places and took a photograph. The first forword is by Eric Saarinen, son of the great architect Eero Saarinen, and the second forword is by visual effects pioneer Doug Trumbull of 2001:A Space Odyssey, Close Encounters, and Bladerunner fame. There are also liner notes by designer Karim Rashid. Please take a look, you won't be disappointed. Sean Hargreaves
