hey, yes i got it, but it is not a spam, but an offering of job, it s nothing wrong i think, people offering to work together as group around the workd is a nice idea, i am totally for it, i lived in belgium, morrocco and uruguay, and to know all these cultures really adds something to my life,

with all the spam we get everyday, a guy wanting to work with others in the world is nothing wrong

If he is posting on the forum..fine with me.

If he is emailing me directly without my request = SPAM!

I'm not too sure this is spam.

I was able to find your website link from your avitar, then on your website there is a contact page which displays your details. I didn't use any automatic collection software to get your email address, just a few well 'targeted' clicks.

I'm guessing you're just on the receiving end of somebodys carefully targeted marketing campaign?

If he's asking for a job, then I wouldn't consider it spam--but if it's an unsolicited email with the purpose of marketing his business, then it's spam! Doesn't matter if he got your email address through your accessible profile--still spam!

The ones that I've been getting lately are these stupid stock market emails.

Death to spammers!!

Wait wait. I guess I "spam" I send out e-mails to companies explaining my work, what I do and let them know how to contact me. I cold call and I give out mailers. The difference is that I have a legitamate business and I am contacting people through legit means. I am not selling viagra, I am not giving out south african lottery tickets, contacting you because you have the same name as a collegue who died and you are the only one who can access his 12 million dollar bank account, or telling you to buy this stock today because it will go through the roof tomorrow.

exactly my point - thank you. I have no problem with people putting up a post on the web forum advertising their skills but as soon as somebody emails me about it without me requesting it...THAT'S SPAM. My profile info has nothing to do with it.

Cold calling and sending out mailers is fine--sending unsolicited cold emails offering your services is spamming.
