Wojciech Klepacki
Nisus is right, kill the designer - red is not from this story. BTW overall impression of architecture is depressing. Why don't You make the rest in Photoshop? Mayby enough of 3D software if you haven't got the pecious time? Best regards. P.S. Keep working... ))

Ricardo Eloy
Hey, quizzy! Man, I think the bg is waaaaay too heavy. If I were you, I'd go for something more neutral, maybe a gradient only image, d'know... The trees are also weird (flat), and so is the ground (but I'm sure you know that). Keep us updated! quizzy
We choose for this "heavy" background, and such trees do exist in the netherlands... let me post a composit piccy... just a sec...

Ricardo Eloy
Still, I think the trees look flat. They really look like planes with opacity maps. Make them perpenducular to the camera and adjust their opacities (they are a little bit transparent). The ground with the plants looks, indeed, much better. And another thing about the bg: its red color is mixing with the buildings color, making it look really confuse. But, if it's a choice you've made, go ahead. plastic
haha, it's a bit strange. like a psychedelic dream in a horror movie. i like it the trees are flat, yes...and transparent...bad opacity map? if you need properly prepared tree textures try these: http://plugins.marclorenz.com/treeshop [ December 12, 2002, 11:23 AM: Message edited by: plastic ]
ingo
Looks great, although i'm not sure what you're smoking Now lets get rid of that ugly building and put in a nice castle. I specially like the nice red-green contrast. Have fun ingo
quizzy
okay now i see what you mean... well the opacity is on purpose.. and they are very perpendicular to the camera.. they are scaled RPC's I think they look that flat because of the opacity and the scaling.. quizzy
hehe thanks ingo... and no i'm not smoking that legal stuff... (well in holland its legal...) just smoking my chesterfields (not furniture )
ingo
Hmmm...to me it smells like marjoram Oh, and put something on the horizon of the picture to give it a depth, ingo
quizzy
well this will basically be the final image, no more hours to spend, I'm now rendering a hi-res piccy and have to some photoshop work to add the grass....
Ricardo Eloy
You said the trees are scaled RPC's....Never scale them! They will always look weird, no matter what. I'd go, then, for Marc's Treeshop (BTW, Marc, I just received the e-mail about the new version! I'm on my way to download it!). You'll be able to scale them any way you want. quizzy
surprise surprise.... I got some more time to work on it.... So here are the final piccy's..
mbr
Yeah, I'd add a simple gradient for the sky, or something simple. I'd also make it a blue or at least less red - something to tone down the psychedelic impression. Maybe add a tad transparency to the glass and slap a few columns inside (just enough to add some depth to it). Mapped ceiling lights are always a quick fix to add complexity, too. Lastly, I'd scrap the RPC files and just composite in PS after - much quicker and you can change the quickly. Try that cool plugin for PS that RPC has on their site - it's really pretty slick little tool to place the RPC files in a PS doc. It's coming along, though. Can't wait to see the next version! Oh, yeah, too bad about the red material - I hate it when a client insists on something awful!
mbr
Ooops! Damn, I'm bad! I did those images just get put up while I was typing?! Well, good job. I like the transparency added to the glass, columns on the inside (that is what I am seeing?), and nice sky. I'll have to type faster next time ; )
