SandmanNinja
The image is a bit dark. I'd turn on some of those downlights over the bar to get the lighting level up. I find restuarants and bars very hard to do, as you want a low-light scene, yet you need to show off features of it. I don't use v-ray, but I remember secondary bounces from my brief flirtation with it. I'd increase your secondary bounces.
cundyscott
Thanks Sandman for posting the image. Ive only put in about half the lights. Its just the ambient lighting. Above the bar there's twice as many lights as there are in this render, then more over the table area. Thats why it looks so dark.
shaneis
I'm looking forward to seeing this one when finished. Maybe polish the floor a bit - there'd be some nice reflections.

cundyscott
I can tell you that its just vray lights behind the mirrors and on the left wall. The bar has a 2 sided material with vray lights shining through it. And the roof has purple free lights that are really dim.
murambi
any light linking??
shaneis
any light linking?? I just discovered in another thread that when we Maya users mention "Light Linking", Max users may not know what we're talking about. In Max, the equivalent term is "Excluding" or "Including" lights. "This has been another community service announcement..."

shaneis
No linking or including or excluding. To be honest I have no idea what your talking about. By default, all lights and geometry are linked/ included. You can break the links/ exclude geometry from a light. For example, you could break the links between the downlights above the bar and all the tables and chairs. It has performance benefits and can also remove some artefacts.
