font bug?

hi guys

we recently (this week infact) changed our whole company profile.

This involved new logo and font types etc.

So the CAD manager here is drafting up new drawing sheet templates for us with the new true type font we're now using.

It's called Frutiger 45

here's a quote from an internal e-mail he just circulated to us .....

" Previously to our font change we have experienced a small number of cases where fonts written into AutoCAD drawings have mysteriously changed size when plotted from that which is displayed on the screen during drawing construction.

At the time this was generally considered a problem that was associated with corrupted drawing files and that the only definitive remedial action was to start the drawing again

Currently this problem is a growing concern and in the last week we have encountered many additional cases where this 'font bug' has materialised and refused all attempts to remove it from drawings. "

there have always been problems between jumping back and forth between paper space and model space but this is baffling.

The new TT font is embedding somthing into the drawings themselves we believe.

We though of switching back to our usual font (arial) but this text is now also changing size too.

has anybody any ideas on this?

we didn't have trouble with any font-type except with our coompany's default font... It's different on all pc-based operating systems and even got different results on the mac platform too. It's really annoying... and we didn't found a cure yet...

Well what version of Autocad are we talking about?? And is that size problem only happening when plotting or viewing in the screen?? We also changed our default font to Frutiger 45 and 55 and we did not encounter any problems ..yet... Also we changed our font in fontographer to have a larger spacing (which is not possible to do in Autocad...) So, no probs over here... There are some updates for autocad 2000... that might help
