Backburner across different OS

Can someone please tell me if Backburner works between Windows Vista 64-bit and Windows Server 2008 64-bit?

I'm pretty sure you should be okay. We haven't switched 2008 yet for anything other than the main servers, but I have a handful of blades running server2003 with backburner for net rendering. And I've tested it sending jobs from windows7, which means vista should work as well.

I'm not sure what is going on. I'm getting the dreaded "Task Error: Unknown error while loading application"

 

I'm running max2009 design. I have the SP1 installed as well. All of my vista machines are working fine.

The same is happening to me. I am trying to include a computer with w7 ultimate as a render node. All nodes are running with windows xp 64bits

 

The backburner server starts and register OK, the node appears in the list of servers, and receive jobs, but, when 3d max is going to start, it shows the following message: "unknown error while loading application"

 

All computers with max 2010 64bits sp1 + vray sp4a

 

Any idea?

Make sure that the user logged in on the render nodes has read/write privleges on all backburner folders.

Ok, it works now. It was a w7 security option: Control Panel / Activity Center / User accounts control / it must be switched to the lowest level.
