Hi all,

Why the hell would one still want to see an opera?

Many would not know, would you...?

NO, opera is not boring, not dead, not old...

YES, it's alive, interesting, surprising and magic!

Personally, I use opera as a real-life case study on lighting because it is like a life film being produced right before your eyes going from one atmosphere to another using mainly a different artificial light setup. It is magic to see those lighting artists at work to provoque whatever story has to be told.

For those of you who don't believe me, don't know what's opera is about, have never seen an opera or are not interested at all, pls check out the following link http://www.vlaamseopera.be/eng/picture.asp

to see some amazing pictures from the latest Belgian productions. I think many of you will be impressed by the power of light in a simple scene.

Check out "all productions" to see all pictures or "salome" for my favourite scenography ;) Be sure to click "search" for an overview of the chosen images.
